Alicia Keys has announced that The Black Ball Event for the Keep A Child Alive organisation will be taking place this year in London on 27 May…

The songstress, whose new album The Element Of Freedom is trailblazing in charts right now, will be at the star-studded charity event this year which will take place in St John’s Smith Square.

Last year’s Keep A Child Alive event in the UK was a gala that included performances from Stephen and Damien Marley, Jennifer Hudson, Annie Lennox, and Alicia Keys.

Ms Keys, who is also the co-founder of Keep A Child Alive, has worked tirelessly to help and support families who have been affected by the HIV/AIDs epidemic in Africa and India whilst bringing more awareness to the rest of the world. The Black Ball event is a gathering of the stars and philanthropists who have done work in raising funds and awareness for families and children who have suffered due to HIV/AIDs. The night not only celebrates the work they have accomplished but encourages people that more can be done.

Keep A Child Alive is involved in many projects that help the citizens of Africa and India, they provide lifesaving treatment, care and support services for the children and families. Since 2003, Keep a Child Alive has funded eleven additional projects in Ethiopia, Kenya, Mali, South Africa and Zimbabwe.

They are currently funding eight clinical and orphan care sites in India, Kenya, Rwanda, South Africa and Uganda.
