The Brit Awards moves venue to the O2 arena from Earl’s Court for the first time next year.

The annual UK music awards ceremony has been held at Earl’s Court for the past 11 years..

Next year’s Brit awards will be held on 15 February 2011.

Brits bosses have also announced a further three-year deal with ITV to show the event live on television.

Looking at what The Brits stands for – the ‘must-see’ spectacle – it was clear that moving to a state-of the art venue like the O2 was an obvious evolution,” said Brit Awards chairman David Joseph.

Congratulations to JLS, Pixie Lott, Lily Allen and Dizzee rascal who were all nominated for more than one Brit award this year. Peter Kay will host the event on the 16th of February at Earls Court.

One of the shockers of these years’ nominations has seen the award panel ignore Tinchy Stryder as the best selling male for 2009 in the UK has not been included in the best male category. Dizzee Rascal was included however. JLS were nominated for British Breakthrough Act, British Group and British Single.

Cheryl Cole is the most recent to be recruited to play live at the 30th anniversary Brit Awards.

Cheryl will be joining Jay-Z who is rumored to be bringing Alicia Keys out on stage for ‘Empire State Of Mind’, Lady Gaga, Kasabien, JLS and Robbie Williams. As well as Dizzee Rascal and Florence & The Machine who will reportedly perform a mash-up they are calling ‘You Got The Dirtee Love’.

The awards will be held at London’s Earls Court Arena on February 16th.
